GIBSON EB2 I used this for some of the first album and all of the second.. its a great bass, but unfortunately with the holes in the body it doesn't actually project the sound as well for a rock bank.. more suited to a rockabilly act.. but beautiful bass

GIBSON LES PAUL (recording professional)... this weighs more than I do... slightly smaller neck... easy to get around, especially in my bass solo which I've done for over 30 years... not the same solo of course.. it has evolved.. this is the bass I came to England with in 1971... soooooo heavy... the guys would complain when they lifted it.. it had to have a transformer because it had low impedence pick ups... I actually had to screw the strap into the body.. as it was so heavy that when I did my normal jumping around stage act..the normal screws simply sheared off... I loved this bass the most after my Fender precision and played it for about 5 years.... my best friend.

GIBSON RIPPER I used this bass for about 3 years.. very very big body... neck was also thick and long.. good woody sound.. but cumbersome... not sleek like some of the other big bodied bases... pretty colour.. tan... finally moved on.

GIBSON GRABBER I think it was just a way to continue the line.. you know.. Ripper, Grabber.. it had none of the tone or feel of the Ripper.. just big and not nice to play.. and the sliding pickup.. some marketing guys mistake.. I mean who need a sliding pick up.

I have gone from my original bass.. given to me by my dad in 1964.. (I was the only girl in the band with a real guitar) a 1957 Fender precision.. sunburst.. gold scratch plate, stripe up the back of the neck.. the real deal... and a bassman amp... I didn't know it was the most difficult bass to play due to the size of the wide neck.. its also the very best in the studio to this day... when I went to a slighter thinner neck.. I was very fast indeed. I have gone through the above bases.. even the grabber which was after to the ripper.. with a sliding pickup... and finally settled on a status ... fiberglass neck which makes it stay nicely in tune on stage.. and is very very durable.
